Rounded-Log Cabins

The classic log style for traditional cabins is of course the big round log. This was because the felled trees were de-barked and layered up on top of each other without the need for machining or milling (apart from the corner joints). It is a bit more precise these days with the machine-rounded logs also having a proper joint between them, thus giving a much tighter and more weatherproof seal. The result is that you have a very heavy cabin which fits the brief of a lodge that would equally be at home by the side of Lake Winnipeg!
