Larch Framed Post and Beam Garages

The post and beam method of building has been around for centuries and is truly tried and tested. It is an easy system to build the main skeleton of a building very quickly, which can then be "in-filled" with various materials to make it weatherproof.
Apart from larch, we offer a choice of materials from which to make our Post and Beam building-

Pressure Treated Softwood Post and Beam Timber Frame

Spruce is the classic material to make timber framed  buildings from. It is easy to work with and is a consistent material to work, making it a very resilient structure.

Pine Post and Beam Timber Frame

Pine is the most common redwood and had many uses. It is a good strong timber and is regularly used for structural building purposes.

Glulam Post and Beam Timber Frame

Glulam timber is formed by elimintating the undesired parts of planks and then glueing them together to form big sections of timber, thus forming a very strong beam.

This Post and Beam Sytem can be a stand-alone design, or can be designed sympathetically with it's surrounding buildings to fit in as the ‘perfect addition’ - it gives you the ability to “Design & Build” simply, easily and cost effectively.

Benfield timber buildings and garages (more recently trading as BT Buildings) have now gone into liquidation. They had websites including  (their main websites being postandbeam.benfieldtimberbuildings.co.uk and benfieldtimberbuildings.co.uk. This now leaves us (Hortons Group) as the lead supplier of the cheap Solidlox system of manufacturing timber garages and buildings (possibly the only supplier of Solidlox). Our factory is set up to make any size of Solidlox garage including the room over versions.

Not only can we make these buildings but we can also offer to supply various timber windows, personnel doors and garages doors with the garages (unlike Benfield or BT Buildings).

Hortons has installations teams as well, so we can erect in most parts of the UK.

Depending on the type of roofing you choose and your location, it may not be possible for us to undertake the tiling of the building (easy enough for a local roofer).

If you are local, then we can also lay concrete bases as well.

We are aware that there will be Benfield customers who have been left in limbo without a building - we can certainly help out with the same type of building so you won't need to amend any planning permissions already granted or any approved for Building Regulations.
